The words these pages use, said once and plainly

Each term has its own short page: what the word means anywhere, then what it means in BackendFree.

Web analytics AI crawler A program that reads web pages for an AI company: to train a model, to build an answer index, or to fetch a page somebody asked about. /glossary/ai-crawler/ Bookings Buffer Time blocked before or after an appointment, for setting up, cleaning down or travelling, which the customer does not book. /glossary/buffer/ Payments Deposit Part of the price paid when somebody books, so that a slot is not taken and then left empty. /glossary/deposit/ Concept Headless CMS A content system with no website attached: the content is changed in one place, and a website built separately reads it through an API. /glossary/headless-cms/ Developers Idempotent Safe to do twice: doing something again changes nothing that doing it once did not. /glossary/idempotent/ Concept Instant A moment that means the same thing everywhere, written with its offset from UTC rather than as a time on a wall clock. /glossary/instant/ Developers Publishable key An API key made to be seen: safe in a web page, because it can only do what any visitor to that page could. /glossary/publishable-key/ Web analytics Referrer The address of the page a visitor followed a link from, as their browser reports it. Some apps and browsers send none. /glossary/referrer/ Developers Secret key An API key that stays on a server, because it reads every booking with its customer, and every payment. /glossary/secret-key/ Developers Webhook A message one system posts to another's server when something happens, so the second does not have to keep asking. /glossary/webhook/
